Theme Where People Live. It’s messy no ‘posh’ clothes please. Feel free to brings things in for our nature table. Snack will be in ‘tea party’ format where children spread their own crackers, pour their own drinks (as usual) and use knives and forks to ‘cut’ various foods. Nursery will also be using junior hacksaws to saw different pieces of wood to ‘make’ their own houses.

Return 31st October-  Halloween! Book your extra session for a spooky fun day. Dress up if you wish. Also coming up, we have Diwali and Bonfire Night  . We will be talking about staying safe and not being afraid of noisy fireworks and preparing a delicious vegetable curry to take home. The children will be preparing their own vegetables. ‘Shubh Diwali’

Theme 7th Nov – My Favourite Book. Please bring in your favourite books. One will be chosen to ‘bring alive’

14th Nov – Baking Week – Lots of delicious recipes for you to try. Oh yes the children do it all themselves. (Except use the oven, of course…risk assessment says nooo)

Mon 21st Nov – Photographer in. All welcome.

21st Nov Christmas starts here

Last session Wed 14th Dec

Thurs 15th Dec - The Nativity. Everyone welcome to attend. No charge. Programs will be on sale for £2.50. Cast list will be up shortly. Please supply costumes. Unfortunately children cannot be left unattended. Curtain up 10 ish.

Friday 16th Dec – Christmas party. Tickets £10 (under 2’s £2.50) Adults free. More the merrier. Strictly ticket only because Santa needs to know! Entertainer Ronnie Crackers.

Return 9th January to People Who Help Us. Any talented folks out there who would like to come in and talk to the children?     Anyone work for the emergency services who can pop in with the ‘company’ car (or engine)?

Mon 23rd January – Chinese New Year. The year of the Dragon. Children will be drinking Green Tea and sampling some chinese treats. (Remember to keep us informed of any allergies)

Wed 25th January – Burns night come dressed in something Scottish (or a monster). The children will of course be eating Haggis. If anyone can play the bagpipes you would be very welcome to play to the children.

Return – Mon 20th Feb.  Theme - Our Growth and Nutrition. We’re desperately seeking a dental nurse to come in… We’ve lost ours somewhere!

Tue 21st  - Shrove Tuesday Pancakes in the cafe!

Mon 12th March – Speaking and Listening Week. We need your pots please

Mon 19th March – Grandparent Week. Come and join us for one hour between 10am and 11am or the whole morning.

No afternoon session Tuesday 20th March

26th March - Easter Week. Bring an Easter bonnet to wear at the end of session.

Finish – Fri 30 March

Return – Mon 16th April – Clear your windowsills. It’s Growth   

April 23rd - Transport. Followed by Around the World. Any food allergies? We need to know.       

30th April – Spain                 

May 7th – Bank holiday closed

 May 8th – Hawaii

May 14th – Egypt

During this theme the children get to try some foods that they may not taste in every day life. Also for them to bring any memorabilia from their holidays.

1st June – Finish

ALL OF THE ABOVE WILL BE SERVED WITH A GOOD DOLLOP OF SMARTIES SPECIALITY…….READING, WRITING, MATHS, MANNERS AND MESS!

Of course all dressing up is completely optional. Our aim is to Laugh and Learn not to break the bank!

Our themes are subject to change. If the children are playing a particular game, make suggestions or are simply affected by current affairs, then we will go with the flow!

Our group is very diy style…We encourage independence and actively encourage children to do things for themselves.
